My first Woolman break (^___^)

During my first break at Woolman, home seemed to be on my mind a lot.  But also, whenever I would see chocolate, I would think about what Emily taught us about the child slavery. It had a big influence on the way, I hought about the chocolate and where it came from. So,on my last day when Iwas hungry, waiting to be picked up, I saw a Hershey's chocolate  bar in the vending machine and walked away from it because I thought about the readings and movies that Emily had shown us. They were about  kids in Africa being tricked and taken away from their families to be worked in cocoa fields as slaves for no pay, or food and for the rest of the lives of those involved with harvesting the cacao.Just having an understanding of what I'm eating, where it comes from, and the how its being made also made me feel less blind to the world.
