Sustainability Project--Trail and Bridge Building

Greetings!

We are getting very excited for our sustainability project for Jacob's class. We are planning to make a trail from the oxidation ponds to the Fire Road on the north side of campus with a foot bridge that crosses over the creek. The trail will be single track and would highlight the natural beauty of our wonderful flora and fauna on the Woolman campus. For this project, we would like to create a single track trail and foot bridge with a full scale outline and map of the trail (well placed for ecosystem preservation and natural attractions), and blueprints for the bridge. Through this construction we would like to gain knowledge of the northern property boundary and ecosystems in that area as well as build lasting friendships with each other and the land.

After classes, we are often out in the woods getting coordinates and dimensions for the bridge, figuring out the best deer trails to use and finding cool natural sights we'd like to be near the trail/bridge. We're grateful for this wonderful opportunity to get to know the Woolman forests better.

Sincerely,

Max, Greg and Maria
