Native Plants: Coming Soon!

March 12, 2012
by Chelsi Torres, Woolman Semester Student Spring '12

There are many sustainability projects this year, but the native plant garden will take up the most space in the garden. The native garden will be in a large area above the "old garden" that will intermingle with oaks, the wash station, and the forest garden. Ryan Sennett, Malaika Bishop, and I will be working on this project all semester. Our hope is that this garden will help preserve our appreciation for the environment we live in and help future generations learn about the plants all around us. So far, there is a map of the area and we are pulling our resources in the form of books, and knowledgeable people. Thank you to Matt Berry and community member Sandy Kewman for taking their time to share their knowledge with us to make our garden more beautiful.

Part of our soon to be native plant garden.
